Story
The heart of A Southern Touch was planted in me long before the business ever began. Growing up, I watched my father, the late John McNair II, express his love through cooking. He created a warm and welcoming feeling in our home, always having something ready to serve—no matter who stopped by or what the occasion may have been. From him, I learned that food is more than a meal; it is a way to bring people together, care for those you love, and make everyone feel at home.
As a kid my parents', taught my siblings and I early that there is always a place to serve not only in ministry but beyond. Experiences of helping my grandmother the late Catherine Hester-McNair during the holiday sessions who was an advocate for the Seniors Citizens and First Responders of Duval county. The taught me the importance of giving back, caring for others, and serving with a willing heart.
During the childhood summers I spent in Miami, Florida, I had the privilege of learning from my aunt, Mrs. Ellenor Bridges, an executive chef. Through her example, I witnessed what it means to provide full-service hospitality and deliver quality service to every client with excellence, care, and professionalism.
My journey continued during my senior year at William M. Raines High School, when I assisted one of my teachers, Mrs. Jaquina Waters-Jones, as she catered many special events. Working alongside her as a preparation assistant strengthened my love for serving others and helped me recognize, develop, and refine the gifts God had placed within me.
Today, A Southern Touch is supported by a talented team of professionals who bring diverse expertise and more than 75 years of combined experience. Our mission is simple yet meaningful: to spread joy through exceptional service.
Every dish we prepare and every event we design is created with love, care, and thoughtful attention to detail. From the first conversation to the final presentation, our desire is to ensure that every client and guest experiences the genuine warmth of true Southern hospitality.
